Vox has a great article about the current Internet-hulk-out over Cecil the Lion. I won’t repeat its arguments except to say that I agree whole-heartedly with its central argument that mob justice is to be feared and not lauded. However, I do have a caveat to add: that there is a difference between internet-hulk-outs and Internet organised protests.
For better that the outrage over Cecil the Lion been directed towards implementing legislation around international big-game-hunting, targetting companies that support or make a living from big-game hunting and lobbying African governments to stop those enterprises instead of supporting them.
In the meantime, WTF is with those big-game/trophy hunters? I mean: SRSLY WTF IS WRONG WITH YOU?
