Say you’re walking down the street and:
a) a pan-handler asks you for spare change; and
b) you see the pan-handler there every day and know for a fact they don’t actually have an actual job; even though
c) the pan-handler is an able-bodied and seemingly able-minded adult man; unless
d) you count the pan-handler’s incessant preaching about the value of compassion (especially the value of giving spare-change to pan-handlers) as a job.
Would you believe whole-heartedly the pan-handler’s message about the importance of compassion?
