losing the war

I was reading two articles on this war on terrorism today, both in the Australian.
One of them, Pamela Bone was writing about how the West is not responsible for the actions of the terrorists – ie that in spite of the justifications used by terrorists for their actions, terrorists are ultimately moral agents and they have to bear responsibility for their choices and the consequences of their choices.

In another article, our Prime Minister was saying that the Australian Government was not responsible for the hardline anti-terrorism legislation put in place recently and the “necessary” erosion of our civil liberties, it was entirely the fault of the terrorists. IE, that his government had no choice and hence no moral responsibility for the implementation of those laws.
